My emotions have been stirred. Not like Bob Marley kinda “stirred up” but they have been stirred!

How?

I have signed myself up, along with few others, to see the Iranian movies (and some other ones) presented at the Vancouver International Film Festival, which began last week, and still going and going and going till next week! Tell you the truth I might not want to step into another movie theatre for a while after this, especially where popcorn is not served!

:P

It feels surreal. I wake up in the morning and go about my day in my own little Canadian Persian world and then I hit the movies in the evenings, which offer many reminders and new things to learn. Eastern air floats in a Western theatre location. You have no choice but being stirred up! The next day I readjust myself to my daily rituals and await another “breeze” in the evening. Hmmm!

When I came to Canada 25 years ago I brought amazing memories, traditions, beautiful culture and so much more from Iran with me. Along the way living while living in Vancouver, I mixed it all in with my new learnings and memories which have all given me the gift of enjoying both worlds.

Here’s my new plan (I’m a planner!). These movies have motivated me to plan and finally take actions towards something I’ve been putting off for a long time. I went back to Iran to visit almost 8 years ago after 17 years. It was a great experience but not enough to satisfy my quench for getting reaquainted for all the years passed and I was not quite ready to receive the experience.

I am ready now. When you’re ready the universe brings in all the opportunities. I received a few phone calls and some interesting incidents have been taking place in the last few days which have now assured me that it’s time to start planning again. All that happens around us are linked, you just have to look closer and pay attention.

I’m sure you’ve heard the Buddhist proverb: “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear”.

Your calling can be as big as a career change, a move, and any other life changing experience or can be something as minor as just taking another trip to a familiar place. You just have to give the inkling a little more room to grow and get “ready”.

By the way that’s how I became a coach! I finally answered and gave in to my calling and took action. And here I am. 😀

When was the last time you acted upon something you knew you were called upon? What was the result of that action? What have you done with those burning thoughts or feelings you have been putting off for some time now?

Put your fears in a box, lock them away and prepare yourself. Before you know it, you will find the path you’re meant to be walking in.
