OH YES!
I did find a happy place: a much needed very hot happy place. Swam in the ocean, swam in the pool, ran every morning on the sand by the ocean (please see photo on the left – view of the room), zip lined right into a waterfall (see photo below – yes that is a flower in my hair and yes those are my flip-flops on my wrist!), swam in stalactite/stalagmite caves, rafted in there too, and drove with a amphibious jeep in and out of them and did not stop at just that: then came the dancing and outings at night! 🙂
Well the plan was to relax and get some sleep. I didn’t. Just plain and simple as that! I told myself when I get to Vancouver I’ll catch up on my sleep. U-huh?! Sure, sure.
I came back spending a few amazing days with my sister before she took off and then I got right back into work. I felt so appreciated by all the phone calls and messages from my clients saying they can’t wait to see me upon my return. Thank you. That’s definitely one other happy place for me.
This past Friday was my best girl’s last chemotherapy session. We’ve been counting the days for this one. I’m usually with her on the phone for about 5 – 8 hours! That’s when I’m “on call”. Everyone knows of that term and supports me throughout so I can give all my energy to her.
She’s not feeling well at all today (Mother’s Day) and is spending the day at home with her son and hubby. But she will be back on her feet again as of tomorrow (cause I say so!).
I woke up yesterday early morning to this text (day after the chemo):
“I just woke up and looked at all the photos in my phone that I saved after the cancer diagnosis and I came across your first blog about me that I’ve saved on my phone too. Every time I read it, it brings tears to my eyes. Thank you my friend for your love, your support and for who you are… you have always been a big chunk of my life and my joy through good times and bad times. I wish for our compatible souls to cross paths in other lives too. This one has been a damn good one so far…”
I replied:
“I love you. You’re a big chunk of mine too. After I hung up yesterday, I was thinking that ever since December 22nd that you told me the news, it was me who got sick! Yes, we are interconnected and will always be. This was OUR test and we passed with flying colours.”
If that is not one of the best places to be happy in, then I don’t know what is??
One more surgery left and then the celebration begins and we’re doing that by going to see Tony Robbins in San Jose! Wooohoo! Now that will be the ultimate #&%^ING happy place! Did I mention I’m sitting in the front row?! Hee Hee!
You can find a freaking happy place anywhere people! You don’t have to go on a hot vacation (though it’s awesome!), just look a little closer and use a magnifying glass, if you must! 🙂
