How does appreciation affect our lives?
When we’re grateful for all the great things we receive from anyone whether it’s a hug, a present, time taken to be heard and seen, an unrequested favour, etc. it delivers and magnifies happiness and joy in our lives.
Why?
Because all such actions means that someone is taking the time to show us we matter in their lives.
The most important key for not turning appreciation into expectation depends on how often we show that love and appreciation to ourselves. That is also how we recognize what others do for us and we give more freely.
If we do not practice it for ourselves, no matter how grateful we are for what we receive, eventually it will turn into expectation and sometimes, resentment.
