Where is the place you go to when you realize the final destination you were aiming to reach at any level such as honesty, loyalty, trust, hope and more, has cracks in its wall and deceit has diluted it?
What if you constantly put your trust in others and get disappointed at least 8 out of 10 times?
What if you let go of all your guards and get ready to jump in wholeheartedly only to realize the person(s) you trusted are not there to catch you when you fall?
The answer to these questions has two folds:
1. You agree and sympathize with those who’ve been badly hurt and have lost their faith in the good in others. You can easily relate to their story as that path and its outcome is very familiar to you.
By the way, that makes you part of at least 90% of the population.
2. You disagree with the above and believe no matter how many hits, your story will remain the same: to see the good in others and focus on your values, goals, dreams. No stoppers or U-turns!
You’re part of the 10% (maybe even less) of the population.
Let’s call the 90% “The Storytellers” and the 10% “The Believers”.
The difference between the two is very clear:
The “storytellers” will give in to pain, fear and doubt after a few hits and will live to tell their “defeat” story over and over again with no change in sight.
Just acceptance that “such is life”!
The “believers”, no matter how many hits, still manage to find a way to stand up and tell the story about their achievements in hopes that someone else will learn from them and make a change.
The best part about the “believers” is that they will also go out of their way to help their “hitman” out of their pain!
If you conflict pain, you ARE in pain.
Let me tell you this much, it’s so much easier to be a “storyteller” than a “believer”.
There are temptations galore and many cracks to fall through which can eventually turn into deep wells.
But the “believers” know that their purpose and passion in life will get them to their dream goals and would not trade that kind of ultimate freedom for any temporary high.
If you’re a person who trusts easily and believes that kindness and compassion is meant for everyone, you’ll be tested.
Oh yes, you’ll be tested over and over again for your limits, your beliefs, your values and your fearless ways.
Here’s an example:
You finally arrive to your ultimate destination (or you think you arrived!).
The place you believed will cherish your kind of love, trust, and values upon your arrival, has been tainted by the “storyteller” disguised as a “believer” just to prove you wrong. But most importantly to prove themselves right.
You’ll feel betrayed, angry, shocked, doubtful, sad, and God knows what other feelings will take you on a rollercoaster ride.
What would your reaction be?
You have to do something about this, right?
WAIT…
Before you answer, let me suggest something different to you.
Before confronting, turning your back, and leaving them behind to go deal with the hurt they caused you, take a moment to leave a lesson behind: for them… not you.
“Storytellers'” pains are way deeper than that of the “believers'”.
I promise you that you will walk away with forgiveness, love, kindness, compassion, and trust to continue on.
Now tell me this, where do you belong and where do you go from here?
Are you a “storyteller” or a “believer”?
